Dear friends, family, and supporters,

Greetings from El Salvador! As this year comes to a close, we want to share an important update and, above all, express our sincere thanks to you.

For the past twelve years, your encouragement, friendship, prayers, and financial support have made it possible for us to serve communities in El Salvador through programs rooted in dignity, nutrition, and long-term wellbeing. We are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us and for the relationships that have grown over the years.

As of December 31, 2025, our formal affiliation with Maryknoll Lay Missioners will conclude. In order to continue this same work, we have formed a new nonprofit organization called Nourish El Salvador. Our work continues as a Catholic mission, rooted in the Gospel and lived in relationship with the local Church, even as we move into this new organizational structure.

We want to be very clear: Nourish El Salvador was created by us specifically to support the mission work we have been doing. We will remain in El Salvador, serving the same communities, working alongside the same local partners, and continuing the same programs and commitments that many of you already know and support, including the Soy Nutrition Program.

While the organizational structure is changing, our mission and our day-to-day work are not. This transition reflects a new administrative framework, not a change in purpose or priorities. This new structure allows more of every dollar to go directly toward supporting the people we serve.

In the coming weeks, we will share more information about this next chapter and how to stay connected.

In this Christmas season and as the new year begins, please know how thankful we are for your prayers, continued support, and solidarity with the communities we serve together.

With gratitude,

Melissa and Peter Altman
